Miss Africa Tri State Joy Oppongwah graced the ARM Benefit Gala event in CT. The Abroad Reserve Medical Foundation held their benefit gala on November 3rd, 2012 at the Hilton Hotel in Hartford, Connecticut.
The Abroad Reserve Medical Foundations mission is to advance, improve and develop patient care/healthcare in rural parts of West Africa. The Primary goal of the event was to raise awareness of bridging the Gap between Surplus of Medical Supplies here in the United States and the Need for Medical Supplies in rural parts of West Africa. It was an evening full of good food, music, and lots of networking.

Miss Africa Tri State Joy Oppongwah was a Special Guest and Speaker at the event. She spoke about the importance of giving back and helping others especially the less privileged in our society. She emphasized on some of the things and the people she has been able to influence positively based on her charity efforts. “There is more to being a beauty Queen than just the face and title, it’s actually what you do with it, you have to give back and continue to be a source of inspiration to others” – Joy Oppongwah
The money raised will go to funding the organizations goal of shipping a 40-foot container full of Hospital Supplies to a limited resource hospital in West Africa.
